Library

Students come to the library for a weekly check out time with their class.  Students may also come to the library on an individual basis when class time allows. We do not charge fines for overdue books.  Fines will be assessed for damaged or lost books.  A student that has an overdue book will be unable to check out a book until the overdue book is returned to the library.  Unfortunately, we cannot accept paperback books as a replacement for lost books.

Check out policy per grade level:

PreK  - one book for one week

Kindergarten - one book for one week

First grade - one book for one week

Second grade - two books for one week

Third grade - two books for two weeks

Fourth grade - three books for two weeks

Fifth grade - three books for two weeks

The library is open from 8:00 AM - 3:15 PM on school days.

All students at Tradition Elementary are highly encouraged to participate in reading daily.  We have a few programs at the library to help students get excited about reading.  Here are a few programs we offer at Tradition Library:

• Texas Bluebonnet Award Program for students in 3rd-5th grade
• Texas Bluebonnet Book Battle for 4th and 5th grade students
• Reading Challenges through our reading tracker program Beanstack
• Scholastic Book Fairs Fall and Spring semesters
• Author visit and story performers

We are always in need of assistance in the library.  To be a volunteer, parents must first go through VIP training and a background check.  You can visit the volunteer training via the link below for more information about the requirements for being a volunteer at Tradition Elementary.
